Spring Break

April has come and gone...My parents spent the majority of the month with us here in Okinawa and we had a great time showing them around and exploring the island together. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather this month and spent a lot of time at the beach relaxing. Cori took off a week from work so we could go to Okuma and spend a couple of days there (it's a resort in the Nothern part of the island). It's such a beautiful place to vacation!

 It was great having my mom here, she gave me a nice break from the kitchen. Tonight was my first time cooking dinner in three weeks and I'm definitely a little rusty around the edges. Nothing I'm not going to conquer in the next couple of weeks though...NOT! I'm going back to California on May 11th for Sybil's wedding!! I am so excited to reunite with my friends and loved ones. I've been looking forward to this time for awhile now. I guess it's Cori's turn to survive in the kitchen while I'm gone.

Some further news...I got accepted to USC for a Masters degree in Teaching (ESL). I am really looking forward to going back to school and pursuing my education. I'm not sure yet whether attending USC will actually be possible since the program costs a ridiculous amount of money. I am crossing my fingers that I will get help through financial aid or other sources. If not, I will have to look for different ways of accomplishing what I want to do.  Everything happens for a reason...right? Right!

Life is still good here on the island.
