Last year on July 2nd, we signed our marriage license at my house in Downey with my mom and Jocelyn as our witnesses and my dad as our officiant. It was done in our pajamas and in the wee hours of the night, but the significance of it was perfect. We were in a hurry to be married since we needed to get our paperwork started for me to be able to go with Cori to Japan when the time came to leave Cali. That weekend we spent in Temecula with some dear friends Gillian and Ron and of course our little KELLAYYYY. It was the most perfect first 4th of July weekend together and we will remember it for years and years to come. This year it was completely different. Not only are we now living on the other side of the world but everything here is SOO not the same. For starters, the 4th of July was celebrated here on the 2nd. I have no idea why or the reasoning behind the decision but the celebrations and the fireworks were done on the night of the 2nd. I can't really complain since days signify what you make of them, so we celebrated in style on the 2nd of July. Cori and I decided to have a barbecue at our house and invited a bunch of friends over. It ended being a great night of festivities that ended in some mediocre fireworks. We had a great time and are thankful for everything we have in life.
Corigan started his private pilot's license this last week and he is SO excited (me too! Who doesn't want a hot pilot husband?!) His first flight is this weekend and I am nervous for him but also anxious to hear all about it and hopefully experience it myself sometime in the near future. I know this has been a dream for him for awhile now, so to see him accomplish it makes me incredibly happy. I can't wait to fly over the Okinawan seas with him. I pray for his safety during this time of training.
I start my Master's in Special Education next Tuesday. Something I am looking forward to getting done. It's about time.
We missed you guys this 4th of July! Hope everyone had an amazing weekend. ADIOS
P.s. I'd like to say a shout out to my number 1 blog fan...Stephanie Farina. I got your card in the mail the other day and it brought a smile to my face. Miss you much and love you much more.
