So like you all know already, Cori, Cai, and I were able to come home this summer and visit with everyone. Cai is officially the best baby traveler in the world. The following were all of our flights in the past two and a half months.
Okinawa to Hawaii
Hawaii to San Fran
San Fran to Long Beach
Santa Ana to Cabo San Lucas (Cai not included)
Cabo San Lucas to Santa Ana (Cai not included)
Santa Ana to Seattle
Seattle to Santa Ana
Los Angeles to Honolulu
Oahu to Mainland Japan
Mainlan Japan to Okinawa!!!!
Cai did not cry a single time in all of these flights and therefore receives the award for best behaved traveling babe.
We were able to spend a lot of time in California with friends and family which was amazing and much needed.
Corigan and I had a "honeymoon" vacation which also was amazing and much needed. We got to swim with dolphins, ride ATVs, ride a bottom glass boat to Lover's Beach where Cori got down on one knee and proposed to me again on our 2 year anniversary. It was a memorable trip that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
We also spent some time in Washington visiting family and it ALSO was amazing. We are fortunate to have such great family members and friends. We are truly blessed.
We are finally home again and trying to readjust to life here in Okinawa. As I type we are experiencing the beginnings of the one of the largest typhoons Okinawa has experienced in 13 years!! We hope everything is okay and nobody gets hurt during this huge storm.
Cai has officially started solids. I tried giving him some about three weeks ago but he wasn't ready (I could tell by the way he rejected the food and had no idea how to use his tongue). We tried again last night with some homemade carrot puree and he LOVED it. He knew how to use his tongue and would open his mouth to be fed. We are excited because know it is just another milestone in his development. He is such a cute little boy who can sit up on his own now for short periods of time, screams his head off when he is angry, laughs out loud when he is being tickled, is always aware of what is going on around him, starting to get anxiety when mom or dad leaves the room, and interacting more and more with Lincoln every day. We are proud and happy parents. Exhausted but happy :)
I am continuing my Masters Degree and after my current class I will only have 3 classes left to take. I am very excited to complete this degree and sometime in the future get a job doing what I love...working with special education students!
Cori's work is going a lot better. We are awaiting news in the next couple of weeks that could move our family in a completely different direction. Asking for your prayers in this possible new transition in our lives.
We want to let you all know that we loved spending time with everyone and feel extremely blessed to have such amazing and caring people in our lives. For those of you who we didn't get a chance to see, we missed you and there is always the future :)
Love,
Paloma, Corigan, and Cai
I asked Molly tonight "Have you enjoyed our life so far." She answered "Yes except the last few set-backs" Our time in the military was our best memories with travel to Europe and most of the USA. We never got closer to our childhood home in Washington than San Francisco. But SF was fun too. I had spent more time on this earth in the Wash DC area (10 Years) until we moved to Louisiana. There is a lot to see between DC and Seattle. Our drives home and back let us stop and many of the sights in the USA. The best military advice we can give is "Bloom where you are planted" and make your home at your next assignment. Love you all Uncle Dan and Aunt Molly PS three days drug free.
