February

Look at me being such a great blog poster and keeping you guys up to date on Bemis life :) I had my surgery on Jan 29th and everything went well. Unfortunately, it was a urethral diverticulum which is what we didn't want it to be but the surgery went well and it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. I am healing great and hope to be 100% by the end of March! My mom was here for the surgery and it was a huge blessing to have her help with Cai. He loved having her around and she is missed now that she is gone :(

Photography has been extremely busy and I am loving every second of it although exhausted from all the work. I was able to take a three week break for my surgery so it was nice to spend some time at home camera free. As soon as I was cleared to go though, I immediately started booking sessions and getting back into the game. You can stay updated on everything photography at www.palomabphotography.com

Cai Jackson is walking everywhere now. Every day he walks more and more and getting faster and faster. He took his first steps at 9 months but this month he has become an actual "walker". It is so neat to watch him discover his little legs. Every time he falls (which is a lot) I cringe. He is a boy though so I just need to give in to the fact that he is going to cause his face and whole body a lot of damage before he reaches the age of 18. He is trying so hard to communicate with us even though all that comes out of his mouth are whines. We can't wait for him to start talking since we can all agree that whining is super annoying! He has the cutest smile though and his laughter will light up your heart in 2.3 seconds. He is also extremely curious, loves to play ball with Lincoln, play with his cars, and LOVES pasta.

Cori is also doing well. Work is still work but he is keeping his head up and looking at ways to further his education. He really wants to study unmanned aircrafts so he is in the process of figuring how he can start and how the military can help support his decision. He is excited about Germany and starting fresh. He is the greatest dad...every day Cori comes home from work Cai immediately greets him at the door and they proceed to have a wrestling/tickling match for about 20 minutes. Cai absolutely loves it. All I hear from the other room are shrieks and giggles.

We couldn't possibly leave Okinawa without going to Bali so I "accidentally" booked us a vacation in July to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. It is extremely cheap to travel to Bali from Okinawa so I figured if we ever wanted to go, now is the time. We are very excited and can't wait to share some of that adventure with you in the future.

Last but not least I have 2 weeks of school left! two two two two two two!! These past couple of months have been dragging school wise. I just want to throw in the towel but I just have to keep reminding myself that I am so close to the end. It is going to be great to not have to think about school ever again (well maybe...I'm contemplating getting my PhD but that is here nor there right now). So needless to say I will be throwing a mini party in the near future celebrating not having to write another paper in a LONG time!

Cai turns ONE in March! Seriously where has the time gone? I can't believe I am married, let alone a mother to an almost one year old. So crazy. Life is so great right now and I couldn't be happier to have such an amazing husband and cute son to live out my dreams with. I will post pictures of his first birthday next month to show you how much this little booger has grown these past 12 months.

We miss you all and hope life is treating you amazingly. We love hearing about your lives and staying updated on everything that is happening back home. We loveeeeee you!!!
