One of the things Cori and I really want to do while we are here is experience the ocean as much as we can. I'm not going to lie... the idea was scary to me since I am terrfied of the ocean (especially sharks) and have never been a huge fan of it. Cori (being a fish out of water) convinced me that I have to get over my fear sooner or later, so we decided SOONER and bought our first pair of snorkeling gear yesterday and tested it out at a small beach close to base. I'm addicted!!! How can you not be when you look out into the water and it's a sight to be reckon with, the water is the perfect temperature, and the sea life is abundant and comes in different shapes, sizes, and colors?!? It was GREAT! There were times where we would be swimming under water holding hands, pointing out interesting things for the other to see and I would think to myself " wow, this is HOME for the next three years"....and I've never been luckier.
My new PINK snorkeling gear.
Our snorkeling sight.
Caveman exploring.
I'm ready...
Cori and I brought these starfish back to shore that we picked up on our excursion. Cori dove in to get them. One of the Sgt's has two tattoos that matched our stars perfectly.
We ended our night with a nice traditional Japanese meal.
