A much needed update!!

Wow. So a lot has happened since we last updated our blog, some good and some bad. Let's start off with the bad...we had to get rid of Luxor :( Last weekend Cori was taking Luxor for a walk and he somehow got out of his harness and ran away. The thing about Luxor when he runs away is that there is NO catching him, he is like a ninja! He will run around the neighborhood for hours terrorizing everyone and then come back to our place and wait outside the door until we let him in. This time it was different though, a lady that lives across the street was walking her dogs and Luxor decided to play meet and greet with them only to get into a fight with them and end up biting the lady in the back of her leg. The lady was hysterical (a little too dramatic for my tasting) but she had every right to be since I am sure it is not fun to be bit by a dog. He didn't draw blood or anything but nevertheless she called the cops and we got a "warning" about keeping our dog on a leash always (like we don't already know this). Cori and I talked that night about having to get rid of him since he bit someone and we couldn't be liable for such a thing if he were to do it again. However a couple of days later we were contemplating keeping him and giving him another shot...that is until he busted another move that would land him in a dog orphanage. I was in the process of taking out the trash and had my hands full, Cori opened the door for me not realizing that Luxor was right behind him...1.345 seconds later, Luxor went right between my legs in a mad dash for the outside world. Almost three hours later after he almost bit two different people, he terrorized the neighborhood once again, and I face planted trying to catch him, I finally caught him by making a trail of popcorn into our house (genius, I know). The next morning I took Luxor to the pound where he will be put up for adoption once again after he finishes his 10 day probation period for having recently bit someone. At first Cori and I felt like we failed him in some sort of way. We have since realized that whoever owned Luxor before us was not a good owner and most likely abused Luxor to the point in which his character only shows fear and insecurities right now. We tried our best to show him a loving and caring home but he was set in his ways and we just could not be liable if he were to bite someone again which we knew he would...it was just a matter of time. So that is the sad story :( We will eventually get a new dog, but we learned our lesson...no more adopting grown dogs!!

On a happier note our TMO finally came!! For those of you who don't know what TMO means...I don't either but it is our shipment of all of our furniture. Finding out that it was arriving was probably one of the most exciting days ever. Our place is finally starting to look like a home which makes such a huge difference on how we feel about the place. I love it and I am sure that even though Cori didn't originally agree with all the decorations I got, he now appreciates how lovely our place is.

Yesterday we purchased a xmas tree! That was also exciting. We bought a fake one though because they don't sell real ones here on Okinawa and I've been raised on a fake tree anyways so I don't mind not having a real one. I know eventually we want to have real ones because Cori loves them, especially the way they smell. We did buy a candle that smells like a christmas tree so our house does smell like REAL christmas now :) I can't wait for the holidays!!!

Other than that, our life is pretty much the same. Our car is in the process of getting fixed ...STILL. We are discovering new places to eat, and spending a lot of time with our new friends. We both miss home a lot though and can't wait to reunite with all of our family and loved ones...Maybe someone will decide to pay us a visit for the holidays?? Wink Wink :)
