Cai Jackson Bemis

He is a BOY!!!!
We found out at week 16 that our little baby to be was indeed a boy. I knew it!! I'd had several dreams about meeting the baby and every time he was a boy. Mom's gut feelings are always right. My friend Linda and I went to an off base medical facility to get my 3D ultrasound done, and it was a great experience. Japanese medical establishments are so much nicer than the ones on base. For a $50 dollar fee we were able to tell the sex of the baby over a month in advance. They made no promises since it at 16 weeks it could still be a little too early to tell but our boy did not disappoint...there is no questioning that he is a boy, if you know what I mean ;) The Japanese ultrasound technician made the experience a tad bit awkward by making some inappropriate comments but Linda and I could not stop laughing because they only came across as inappropriate given the language and cultural differences. Very funny indeed.

When Corigan found out he was having a boy, he was very excited. He didn't jump up and down for joy as I expected him to though. I actually think the fact that he was going to be a father in the near future actually hit him then and he got into this very thoughtful mood where he didn't really talk much for the rest of the day. He wanted a boy. Don't all men at some point in their lives want a boy? I'm excited about having a boy. That way when we eventually have our little girl she will have an older brother to watch after her.

Cori let me name him since I felt outnumbered by so much testosterone in the family. Corigan, and Lincoln (the dog) already have a super abnormal connection/relationship that I can't understand or be a part of. Adding another boy to the mix is I'm not going to lie, make me a tad bit jealous and crazy. I can't wait to have a girl now...who doesn't want a mini me of themselves? I know I do! =) I decided to name the baby (with Cori's approval)...Cai Jackson Bemis. He will be  the second love of my life and I will adore him beyond belief just like I adore his father. This is a fact.

I am now 21 weeks pregnant and counting and getting bigger every minute. I don't like being pregnant (sorry people, I am not one of those women that love being pregnant). On the contrary, I find it to be a pain in the butt. However, I am extremely excited to be a mom and meet my child and raise him to be all he amounts to be. I also love his little kicks and movements throughout the day, especially when I feed him sour candy!

Cori's dad is visiting us for Christmas and we are both very happy about this. It's always nice to have family around. It's the only thing that stinks about being so far away....missing family and friends. We have planned to go back to the states in May so everyone can meet Cai and we are looking forward to seeing all of you again.

I'll update again soon!
